Are Pre-Glued Lashes Worth It? Here's What Most Buyers Don't Know

Lashes leaving you gloomy lately? Style them up with some pre-glued lashes!

What exactly are pre-glued lashes?

Pre-glued lashes are essentially false lashes that come with adhesive already applied to the band. With these, there's no more fiddling with the band, applying glue yourself - and there's no need to go out and buy those two separate things, for that matter. It's a ready-to-wear type of deal.

Pre-glued lashes are great for people who want the look of a fuller lash without the stress of glue application. But like any beauty product, they come with their own need-to-knows.

Pre-Glued Lashes: The F's to Your Q's (aka some FAQs)

How Long Do Pre-Glued Lashes Last?

Pre-glued lashes are designed for short-term use, perfect for a night out or a daytime event. On average, they last around 4 to 8 hours depending on your skin type, how much you sweat, and whether you’re prone to touching your eyes. Unless you've got a spare, no, we won't recommend these for a formal wedding.

Can You Reuse Them?

Many assume pre-glued lashes are strictly one-and-done, but that’s not entirely true. The glue strip does lose its stickiness after the first wear, but the lash fibres themselves are often perfectly fine.

So, this is the time when you could consider getting some lash glue and reapplying them yourself before every use - assuming you thoroughly clean out the band first. But, no, you can not revert them back to their original “pre-glued” state - meaning you can't apply glue and put the lashes back in the case and expect to use them when you need them. The glue you apply won't stick by then and may actually make a mess.

Do They Dry Out Even If You Haven’t Used Them?

Yes, and this is one of the sneaky downsides. The adhesive strip can dry out over time, even if the lashes are still sitting untouched in their packaging. Exposure to air, humidity, or simply the passage of time can make the glue less effective. While having a spare can be a clever idea, sticking up might cause you to flush a few dollars down the drain.

Are They Comfortable?

One of the biggest selling points is comfort. Because the adhesive strip is pre-measured and evenly applied, the band often feels lighter and less sticky than traditional glue. For beginners, this is the biggest selling point.

Still, sub-par lashes exist. The saying "you get what you pay for" rings true. Best to stick to the ones with good reviews. Many reputable brands make them, so all you have to do is a little research. Shouldn't be hard to find a good pair. Speaking of…

How to Apply Pre-Glued Lashes?

Easier than traditional falsies!

  • Prepare your natural lashes by curling them lightly and adding a coat of mascara if you want extra blending.
  • Peel carefully by using tweezers or your fingers to gently lift the lash from the packaging.
  • Place the lash band as close to your natural lash line as possible, then press it down starting from the centre and moving outward.
  • If the band feels too long, trim it before application.

That’s it. No glue tubes, no waiting for adhesive to get tacky - a complete set of lashes is on your lids without time wasted.

How to Remove Pre-Glued Lashes?

We felt like it was pertinent information after we've given advice on how to put them on.

  • Gently peel them away starting from the outer corner.
  • If they resist, use a cotton pad with a bit of makeup remover to loosen the adhesive.
  • Avoid tugging too hard, as this can damage your natural lashes. Also, ouchies.

So, are they worth it?

Honestly, it depends! If you value speed, ease, and minimal fuss, they’re absolutely worth trying.

If you’re after durability and multiple wears without extra effort, traditional lashes might be better.
